The 2019 joint ACB-Ohio and ACB-Indiana Conference and Convention will take place at the Crowned Plaza Columbus North hotel in Columbus, Ohio November 15 through 17. The program committee is hard at work putting together workshops and speakers. The committee is working on planning a tour of the statehouse as an outing for Friday afternoon. An interesting feature of the Ohio Statehouse is a tactile map of the state on the floor of the rotunda.
The theme this year is “Breaking Down Barriers” and Linda Leuderman of Women at Risk will present the keynote address. Workshop topics include:
• Restaurant and Grocery Delivery service apps: this session will focus on the various apps and services available to order food and groceries online and the accessibility of each app.
• STABLE accounts: Stable accounts provide tax-deferred and tax-free savings to help pay for qualified expenses for individuals with disabilities. For more information for the state of Ohio visit stableaccount.com. The Indiana program is known as INvestABLE Indiana.
